Jesus remains in Galilee because Judea was too dangerous 1

His brother tried to chide Him into a public declaration 3-4

His own brothers did not believe in Him 5

He had a since of timing 6, 8

He was hated by the world 7

He was hated by the world because He confronted sin 7

He was clandestine in His ministry 10

He was being sought by the Jews (Leaders) at the feast 11

He was not clearly identified by the crowds and there was not agreement on who He was 12-13

He taught in the temple even though He knew they wanted to kill Him 14

He had no formal education but spoke as one who did have an education 15

His teaching was not His own but the Father’s who sent Him 16

He didn’t speak for Himself 17

He was seeking the glory of God 18

He had no unrighteousness in Him 18

Jesus in the Gospel of John (5.1-18)

Praying for Our Army Work (Yesterday's Prayer Warriors: 27/100)

Pray that we would be discerning enough to ask people if they really want to be well

That we would properly divide the Word and understand the commands of God

Pray for the Arizona National Guard and Camp Casey (Staff: Matt Stubbs, Bill Meyers)

Click Here if you Prayed Today

Jesus in the Gospel of John (5.1-18)

Jesus attends a feast in Jerusalem 1

He visits a place where the sick are looking for miraculous healing 2-5

Jesus knew the condition of the man and how long he had been that way 6

Jesus asks a very obvious but important question 6

He heals the man even though he didn’t give a clear answer to Jesus’ question 7

He commands the man to do something a healthy person can do 8

He healed him and told him to pick up his mat on the Sabbath 9

Jesus didn’t even wait around to take credit for the healing 13

He does look for the healed man later 14

He believes that sin can lead to worse infirmities 14

Jesus was persecuted for His interpretation of the Sabbath 16

He calls God His Father 17

He told them He good work on the Sabbath because His Father works on the Sabbath 17

He made Himself an equal with God 18

That we would reap a great harvest in the US Army

Pray for our staff working with ROTC (Drew and Kim Vandergrift, Eric and Dorita Deierlein, Dan and Lois Coutcher, Roy and Debbie Garren, Ralph and Cheylene Gavilan)

Click Here if you Prayed Today

Jesus in the Gospel of John (4.27-54)

Jesus created an enthusiastic witness of the women 29

He drew crowds through the changing of individuals 30

He had nourishment that His disciples didn’t understand 32

His real nourishment was to do what His Father told Him to 34

He compared the harvest of souls to the harvest of fruit 35

He told His disciples they were harvesting fruit for eternal life 36

His disciples were harvesting where they had not sown 37-38

He was initially believed in because of the woman’s testimony 39

He stayed with the Samaritans 2 days 40

He convinced them beyond the woman’s testimony that He was the Messiah 41-42

He is the Savior of the world 42

He spoke the proverb that a prophet is not without honor except in His own country 43

He was received by those in Galilee because they saw the miracles at the feast 45

He was approached by an royal official who want his son healed 46

He responds by rebuking the people for wanting another sign (?) 48

Jesus in the Gospel of John (4.1-26)

Jesus was aware of His enemies’ thinking 1

He was not baptizing, His disciples were 2

He intentionally passed through Samaria, an unclean land 4

He went to Jacob’s well 5

He got tired like any other human 6

He asked a Samaritan woman for water 7

He broke with social norms 9

He began to engage her in a spiritual conversation 10

He continues to zero in on her need rather than speaking of Himself 13

He gets her to the point of spiritual desire and then leads her toward repentance 16

He reveals that He knows about her sinful life 17-18

He stays to task and is not distracted by her theological deflections 19-24

He tells her about what true worship looks like 24

He flat out tells her He is the Messiah 26

Jesus is a teacher from God (and much more) 2

He teaches in parables 3

He understands the things of the Spirit 4-8

He challenges the religious leader’s thinking with out partiality 9

His testimony was not accepted by many 11

He taught earthly things to illustrate heavenly things 12

He descended from heaven 13

He called Himself the “Son on Man” 13

He would be lifted up as Moses lifted the bronze serpent in the wilderness 14

He is the means of eternal life 15

He was sent as a love gift to the world so that those who believe can have eternal life 16

He was sent to save the world not judge it 17

He is however the standard by which we will be judged (belief or not) 18

He is the Light that came into the world 19

He was not welcomed as the Light because men love darkness 19-20

Jesus in the Gospel of John (2.1-25)

Praying for Our Army Work (Yesterday's Prayer Warriors: 23/100. We've been hovering around 25 people praying daily, we're doing good. Recruit your friends to pray with use.)

Pray that we would minister out of a sense of compassion and timing

That we would entrust ourselves thoroughly to God and not the ideas and dealings of men

Pray for the US Military Academe (Staff: Mark and Patty Stoneburner)

Click Here if you Prayed Today

Jesus in the Gospel of John (2.1-25)

Jesus attended a wedding 3 days into His pubic ministry 1

He was known to have disciples 2

He had apparently performed some miracle of provision for His mother prior to this time 3

He was trying to be discrete with the use of miracles and use them with a sense of timing 4

His mother had great confidence in Him and that He would honor her request 5

Jesus honored Mary’s request even though the timing was wrong 7

He turned this seemingly mistimed favor into a full-blown sign 8-11

He chose the time when He would begin to reveal Himself 11

His signs were meant to manifest His glory and cause His disciples to believe 11

Jesus observed the religious holidays 13

He violently attacked spiritual malpractices in the Temple 14-16

His disciples recognized He was fulfilling scripture in His personage 17

His authority was challenged by the Jews 18

He was intentionally vague in His defense 19-22

He left clues for His disciples to help them understand the resurrection, the Scriptures, and His words 22

His words are as important as the rest of Scripture 22

He caused many to believe in Him by His signs 23

He didn’t entrust Himself men because He knew the character of men 24

He didn’t need someone to teach Him because He intuitively knew the character of man 25

Jesus in Ephesians (1.1-22)

Jesus is referred to 29 times in Ephesians chapter 1

Observation – when counting the number of times Jesus is referred to in Ephesians, one must be careful to make a distinction between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

See passage below:

Eph. 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus (Son) by the will of God,(Father) To the saints who are at Ephesus and who are faithful in Christ Jesus (Son) 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Son).

Eph. 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Son) who (Father) has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Son) 4 just as He (Father) chose us in Him (Son) before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him (Father). In love 5 He (Father) predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ (Son) to Himself (Father), according to the kind intention of His (Father) will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His (Father) grace, which He (Father) freely bestowed on us in the Beloved (Son). 7 In Him (Son) we have redemption through His (Son) blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His (Father) grace 8 which He (Father) lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight 9 He (Father) made known to us the mystery of His (Father) will, according to His (Father) kind intention which He (Father) purposed in Him (Son) 10 with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, (Son) things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him (Son) 11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His (Son?) purpose who works all things after the counsel of His (Son?) will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ (Son) would be to the praise of His (Son?) glory. 13 In Him, (Son) you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation — having also believed, you were sealed in Him (Son) with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who (HS) is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s (Father) own possession, to the praise of His (Father) glory.

Eph. 1:15 For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus (Son) which exists among you and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; 17 that the God (Father) of our Lord Jesus Christ, (Son) the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him (Son?). 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His (Father) calling, what are the riches of the glory of His (Father) inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His (Father) power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His (Father) might 20 which He (Father) brought about in Christ, (Son) when He (Father) raised Him (Son) from the dead and seated Him (Son) at His (Father) right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22 And He (Father) put all things in subjection under His (Son) feet, and gave Him (Son) as head over all things to the church, 23 which is His (Son) body, the fullness of Him (Son) who (Son) fills all in all.
